This is the perfect tour for those with limited time or who do not want to venture too far from the City Centre and yet want to experience some of the fascinating sights the area has to offer. We start the day with a drive through Cardiff City Centre passing Cardiff Castle, which was built by the Romans and spans nearly 2000 years of history and the Principality Stadium, the national stadium of Wales and home of Welsh rugby.
We then head westwards to St Fagans National History Museum, one of Europe’s leading open-air museums and Wales’ most popular heritage attraction. Here you can step back in time to experience demonstrations, crafts and activities at a living museum that really brings the past to life. You could perhaps enjoy a Welsh Cake in one of the many refreshment outlets or browse the exciting range of products in the shops.
We leave St Fagans and travel a short distance to Llandaff Cathedral. Standing in the ‘City of Llandaff’ the cathedral is situated in a conservation area close to the River Taff. Llandaff Cathedral was built in the 12th century on the site of the ruins of a church which stood there previously and is the seat of the Bishop of Llandaff, head of the church in Wales. Remarkably, the cathedral remains unspoilt despite being surrounded on all sides by the city of Cardiff, capital city of Wales since 1954 and the major rebuilding which was necessitated by significant damage during the war in 1941.
Having come to the end of the tour we board our vehicle and return to your collection point, having experienced a tour through Welsh history, making memories that will last a lifetime.
