Today’s tour takes us out of the Capital city and to the heritage town of Blaenavon and the National Coal Museum known as the famous “Big Pit” ( Following redevelopment Big Pit re-opened in 2004 and has become one of Wales’ most popular attractions. During your visit you will get to decend 300 ft and experience the famous underground tour with a real miner a tour which itself last for almost an hour !
Visit the Mining Galleries, Pithead Baths & explore the Historic Colliery Buildings.

Having surfaced we leave Big Pit and travel less than half a mile to the Rhymney Brewery where we get to tour the Brewery and understand how “real ale is crafted “  The tour of the Brewey which is  included in the cost of your tour takes approximately    45 minutes and you even get to experience the taste that miners who worked at the Big Pit enjoyed at the end of their shift…as they say  “Brewing Good Ale For The Welsh Valleys.”

Leaving the Heritage site of Blaenavon we travel to the Welsh/English border and to the   town of Abergavenny known as the “Gateway To Wales.”  With no major industry Abergavenny is a  tourist paradise.   With a population of just over 14,000 Abergavenny can tell many a tale, From Roman Occupation to present day as a farming town.
Here you will get free time to wander the market town and browse shops you will not find anywhere else. Visit the Castle and step back in time. Built by the Normans, the castle protected the surrounding areas from marauding Welshmen and was the site of a massacre of Welsh noblemen in 1175  or call at the Market Hall where  various markets are held throughout the month from flea markets to antique markets.  Get to enjoy a coffee or something stronger in the magical streets of Abergavenny !
