Roam Wales takes you to visit famous attractions and places of interest in Cardiff and surrounding areas of South Wales.

Today’s tour takes us to the youngest capital city of Europe. We start with a drive around the city, taking in City Hall, National Museum, Temple of Peace, Cardiff Castle, and the Millenium Stadium. We travel then to Cardiff Bay, where we will visit the Cardiff Bay visitors centre and the home of Welsh Government "Y Senydd", and the Wales Millenium Centre.

From present to past.....we leave Cardiff Bay and drive to Wales’ most popular attraction "St Fagans", once known as the Museum of Welsh life. Housed in the grounds of St Fagans Castle you will see buildings which reflect life from different times in Welsh history. From traditional cottages and houses, to a chapel school and even a post office.

Having travelled back in time you have the chance to sit back and relax in the museum restaurant over a well deserved drink, and perhaps a bite to eat as we prepare for our final visit to Penarth and surrounding areas.

PENARTH is a coastal town 5 miles (approx) south west of Cardiff. A popular holiday destination during Victorian times and known as "The Garden by the Sea" Here you can experience a walk along the imposing Victorian pier or take in the views across the Severn Estuary where the rise and fall of the tides are the second highest recorded anywhere in the world. The Paget Rooms in Penarth, was the venue for one of the final concerts by Welsh Superstar Tom Jones, before his move to America.

Further down the coast lies Lavernock Point, made famous as the place where in 1897 the first wireless signals were transmitted and received over open sea were anywhere in the world.
